Tbt #9: Bette Jamison

“Obtaining a muse is much easier than finding a good quote about having a muse.” - Me

Bette Jamison is a muse, meant to inspire things in the other characters I created. She is one of a whole group of these that I created and, most bafflingly, saved in my binder of drawings for over 12 years.
They all look exactly the same! I guess when my muse told me to draw these characters she said make them really boring and half-assed.

“Like this?” I then asked her.

“No,” she replied. “Shittier.”

That being said I really like the redraw (my horn: toot toot!). I like the colors and she looks like a modern gal. In envisioning her new look I just thought of her as a twenty something woman heading over to a sushi bar to meet some friends. Also . . . I love tiny shorts.

Art tips: I think I kind of got the bow on her right shoe to look correctly angled. It's a bit hard to tell unless the picture is really blown up though. Also you can see some of my work with hair texture- it remains a W.I.P. I guess my tip is if you see this drawing go and manufacture the shirt I drew here in a variety of sizes because I would definitely buy and wear it in real life.
